There are no documents to support the tracer and employer’s rating

The office accommodation for Professors and Senior lecturers are not properly furnished

Only 62.5 % of teaching staff benefitted from the staff development scheme in the last three years

The Internal Quality Assurance System exists but the minutes of the meetings are not well documented

The Curriculum for the program has a lot of religious innovative courses.

 

The Department has graduated three sets of students and so should put the tracer and employer’s rating in place

The University should furnish the office accommodation with whiteboards, bookshelves and fridge

The University should ensure that all teaching staff benefit from the staff development scheme

The minutes of the meeting should be properly documented with the terms and references for the committee spelt out

There is need to integrate more innovative courses such as computational skills and bioinformatics.

 

The total score for the programme is 88.40%. It scored 33 (89.19%)  in Academic Matters, 33 (94%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 15.5 (86.11%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 2 (66.67%) in Research and Collaborations and 0 (0.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
