1. Marking scheme exist but are not clearly written, grading is not consistent as block marking were observed in some cases.

2. Classrooms/lecture theatres lack public address system, projectors and smart boards.

3. There are no computer systems for the Public Relations and Advertising laboratories.

4. Books and journals in the areas of Communication Theories and Mass Communication Research are inadequate in currency.

5. Funding for the programme is inadequate.

 

1. Marking schemes should be well developed and block marking should be discouraged while grading.

2. Public address system, projectors and smart boards should be provided for classrooms.

3. Adequate computer systems with relevant software should be provided for the Public Relations and Advertising Laboratories.

4. More current books and journals in the areas of Communication Theories and Mass Communication Research should be procured for the programme.

5. The programme should be adequately funded.

 

The total score for the programme is 92.00%. It scored 32.5 (87.84%)  in Academic Matters, 35 (100.00%) in Staffing, 24.5 (90.74%) in Physical Facilities, 17.5 (97.22%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 1.5 (50.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
