DEFICIENCIES

REMEDIES

1) Only one innovative course is added in the curriculum.

2) Marking schemes in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy were not well developed. Marks were not properly allocated to questions and scores allocations were inconsistent.

3) Practicals conducted in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry are inadequate for the session.

4) 31.1% of the academic staff and 56.2% of non-teaching staff in the programme did not benefit from staff development programme.

5) Access to e-resources is confined only to the library premises and internet connection in the library is very slow.

 

1) The University should include at least 4 additional innovative courses without exceeding the maximum credit load.

2) The University should ensure that well developed marking schemes across all the courses in the programme.

3) The University should ensure that more practical sessions are conducted in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry.

4) The University should ensure that all the academic and non-teaching staff benefit from staff development programme.

5) The University should ensure that staff and students in the programme can access e-resources beyond the library premises.

 

The total score for the programme is 84.80%. It scored 31 (83.78%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (82.86%) in Staffing, 24 (88.89%) in Physical Facilities, 15 (83.33%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
