1. Less than four (4) innovative courses were included in the curriculum.
2. Internal Quality Assurance Committee is not functional.
3. 90.9% of academic staff did not benefit from the University’s staff development programme.
4. 34.9% of academic staff do not have PhD degrees.
5. Fire extinguishers and sand buckets are inadequate in number
6. Library books are not very current.

 

1. The University should Include up to four (4) innovative courses into the curriculum without exceeding the maximum load per semester.
2. The University should ensure that the Internal Quality Assurance Committee is functional.
3. The University should ensure all staff benefit from the University’s staff development programme.
4. All academic staff should be encouraged to obtain PhD degrees.
5. Adequate number of fire extinguishers and sand buckets should be provided in the Department.
6. The University should procure more current books in the physical library.

 

The total score for the programme is 83.18%. It scored 27.5 (83.33%)  in Academic Matters, 29 (82.86%) in Staffing, 12.5 (78.13%) in Physical Facilities, 15.5 (86.11%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended  FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

B.    APPROVAL BY THE COMMISSION

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of  FULL accreditation status for the Programme
