There are only two technologists in the Microbiology laboratories Alternative source of energy is required in the laboratories for uninterrupted research works. Only 75% of teaching staff in the Department benefitted from the staff development scheme in the past three years. Only 33.3% of non teaching staff in the Department benefitted from the staff development scheme in the past three years.

The University should recruit at least two more technologists for the laboratories. Alternative source of energy such as a generator should be provided for the Department. The University should ensure that all teaching staff of the Department benefit from the Staff Development Scheme The University should ensure that all non-teaching staff benefit from the Staff Development Scheme.

The total score for the programme is 92.00%. It scored 37 (100.00%) in Academic Matters, 29 (83%) in Staffing, 25 (92.59%) in Physical Facilities, 17 (94.44%) in Library. The programme scored 2 (66.67%) in Funding, 3 (100.00%) in Research and Collaborations and 2 (100.00%) in Employers’ Rating. Based on the fact that the programme scored up to 70% and above in all four core components (Academic Matters, Staffing, Physical Facilities and Library), the Panel recommended FULL accreditation status for the Programme.

Based on further analysis of the report, the Commission upholds the recommendation of FULL accreditation status for the Programme
